Paronychia of the left index finger. There is pus around the nail plate and the finger is swollen. The patient needed a minor procedure to release the pus and oral antibiotics. 

Flexor sheath infection of the middle finger following a thorn injury. The finger is painful and swollen with redness tracking down into the palm of the hand. This scenario needs emergency care.
